SIPOO COLLECTION

Mayhem_Sipookuvat-21.jpg

The collection draws inspiration from the 18th-century Sipoo tapestry thats floral vine motif traveling along the edges has now been reimagined in knitwear form. The pieces are designed to complement each other, echoing the same spirit of the motif without being identical.

Created in collaboration with The Adult Education Centre of Sipoo, the project aims to make knitting patterns more accessible to a wider audience and to honor local cultural heritage through craft. The collection includes four free colorwork patterns — from beginner-friendly pieces to more advanced challenges — inviting knitters of all levels to experience the joy of bringing a historic motif to life.

Patterns are available in English and Finnish. You can find swedish translations on Sipoos own website (Sibbostickningar).
